Em princ\u00edpio, os profissionais identificam essa altera\u00e7\u00e3o por meio da microscopia, pois atualmente ela n\u00e3o \u00e9 mensurada por par\u00e2metros quantitativos do hemograma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dessa maneira, a poiquilocitose pode indicar a presen\u00e7a de dist\u00farbios hematol\u00f3gicos. Al\u00e9m disso, as hem\u00e1cias poiquiloc\u00edticas podem assumir diferentes formas, e cada tipo morfol\u00f3gico pode estar associado a condi\u00e7\u00f5es patol\u00f3gicas espec\u00edficas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Entre os tipos mais comuns, destacam-se os drepan\u00f3citos, que apresentam forma de foice ou meia-lua. Esse tipo de altera\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e9 caracter\u00edstico das doen\u00e7as falciformes, nas quais a hemoglobina anormal causa deforma\u00e7\u00e3o das hem\u00e1cias. Essas c\u00e9lulas s\u00e3o comuns em condi\u00e7\u00f5es como doen\u00e7as hep\u00e1ticas e talassemia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Al\u00e9m disso, existem os dacri\u00f3citos, que possuem formato semelhante a uma l\u00e1grima e s\u00e3o t\u00edpicos de condi\u00e7\u00f5es em que a medula \u00f3ssea apresenta dificuldade na produ\u00e7\u00e3o normal de c\u00e9lulas sangu\u00edneas.
